While I was born to two Mexican-born parents, I was raised in the village that is my family. We were brought up to follow the traditions of Mexico, though some were adapted over time to adjust to the world we now call home. I am not as connected as I would like to my roots, but I try to embrace what has been passed down to us through the generations and stories often told at family gatherings.
